Capt. Mike ODell grew up fishing in Michigan. At a young age he developed a passion for all types of fishing. He has guided fly fishing throughout Northern California and Alaska and has spent the last 11 years guiding full time in the Florida keys. He spends a lot of his time chasing permit, tarpon, bonefish, redfish and snook from the Big pine Key area north to the Everglades National Park. He is known as being fun and patient to fish with and invites anglers of all ability levels on his charters.
At Right on Charters we offer both spin and fly fishing trips. I have spent the past 17 years guiding both fly and light tackle spin fishing trips with the last 12 years full time in the Florida Keys. From total beginners to experts my goal is to show you a fun, educational and productive day on the water. Offering both skiff and bay boat trips gives me the ability to fish a wide variety of water and conditions. Families and groups of 2 or more are best suited on one of our bay boats. For those looking to sight fish the flats for bonefish, tarpon, permit, redfish., snook and a variety of other species a trip on the flats skiff is the best choice. Group trips are available for both skiff and bayboat charters. I can take up to six anglers on the Bayboat on a case by case basis.

The flats near Marathon, Big Pine key and Islamorada are home to a world class permit fishery. There is nothing quite like finally fooling a permit to eat your well placed fly or crab. Permit are available year round but certain months can be better.
The bone fishing in the Florida Keys has made a tremendous comeback in the past 3-4 years. The backcountry around Marathon, Big Pine key and Islamorada offer many opportunities to sight fish bonefish with fly rods and light spin rods.
Barracudas are a flats favorite amongst backcountry guides here in the middle Florida Keys. They jump, make long runs and the takes are as incredible as any fish around. Barracudas are here year round and offer a fun fight for both fly and spin anglers alike.
